I promised a couple of years ago that I must practice drawing men. Well, it took that couple of years to really start doing it... I got this lovely wall calendar where male models pose inspired by Ancient Greek and Roman statues. The pictures are great references and eye candy at the same time...

This picture is the picture of November. It's inspired by Apoxyomenos (also called The Scraperby Lysippos of Sikyon, completed circa 330 BC.

Hey, I just thought something about that Disney princess talk: how about Rapunzel from "Tangled?" What era would you set her in?

That's a hard question! The original version of the fairytale is from 1698, but the best known version by the Brothers Grimm was written in 1812. I read that the film's artistic style was inspired by some Rococo paintings, but when I googled some pictures, I saw a mishmash of the Late Middle Ages to the early 1800's. So, Rapunzel's era is as hard to identify as Ariel's...
